Planning a Maternity Shoot on ECR Beach: A Quick Guide
Some of our favorite maternity sessions happen right on the ECR coastline, just minutes from our studio in Palavakkam. If you're considering an outdoor session, here's what to expect.
Best time of day
Golden hour — the hour just after sunrise or before sunset — gives the softest, warmest light for beach portraits. We'll help you pick a slot based on the season so the light works in your favor.
What to wear
Flowing gowns in warm, muted tones photograph beautifully against the beach and sky. We keep a small collection of maternity gowns available to borrow for the session if you'd rather not buy one.
Third trimester is ideal
Most clients book their beach session between 30–34 weeks — far enough along to show a full bump, early enough to still move comfortably across sand.
Logistics we handle
- Scouting the exact stretch of beach based on tide and crowd levels that day
- Bringing reflectors and lighting gear to balance harsh sun if needed
- A backup indoor studio slot if weather doesn't cooperate
